Pres Buhari has hired the services of 13 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs, and 10 other advice to appeal the decision of Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal Appeals Court in Abuja on May 26 this year, rejected the initial objection to the lawsuit filed by based Abuja practitioners law, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe against him challenging the authenticity of his WAEC results.
Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe has dragged President Buhari court, arguing that he did not meet the educational requirements for the contest for the President of Nigeria. Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe alleged that President Buhari did not sit for the Cambridge Certificate West African School WASC) in 1961 as he claimed.
When the lawsuit came on May 26 President Buhari through his counsel, filed an objection to the suit, challenging the mode of service of the calls coming from him and insisted that he should have been served at an address in Kaduna instead by substituted means in the national secretariat All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abuja. However, Justice Ademola, in the decision, has stated that it is not competent and uphold the service of litigation originating from Buhari.

The judge stated that the court process services to the president through the APC secretariat is in order as a subpoena will get him even though it was submitted in the secretariat of the party. Not satisfied with this decision, Buhari through his legal team filed an appeal at the High Court, Abuja Judicial Division on seven grounds of appeal.
Among the president Buhari's legal team, which supports the notice of appeal, is Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Mr. Lateef O. Fagbemi (SAN), Chief Akin Olujinmi (SAN), Oluwarotimi O. Akeredolu (SAN), Kola Awodein (SAN), Prof. Taiwo Osipitan (SAN), Charles Edosomwan (SAN), Emeka Ngige (SAN), Femi Atoyebi (SAN), Femi Falana (SAN), Funke Aboyade (SAN), HO Afolabi (SAN), Muiz Banire (SAN), and 10 other people.
Reacting to the president Buhari appeal in this case, Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe said the president has the constitutional right of appeal and the right to exercise it mainly because he was not a plea for substantive action and have filed nothing in defense of the case.
