- Microsoft offers a new battery saving features in the browser Edge.
- The company has put a video pitting different browsers against each other.
- Edge lasted 3 hours more than Google Chrome in Books surface.
Microsoft has entered the battle field of the browser with the new Edge revamped browser. In the latest blow, the Redmond-based company has launched a video test compares the laptop battery life runs Edge, with a battery life of laptops running other browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and even Opera.
Redmond giant claims that Edge provides a battery life of 17-70 per cent more than the competition. To perform the test, Microsoft ran Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera browser on Books surface. The Chrome browser is the first to lose, not lasting more than 4 hours and 20 minutes approximately. The second to go kaput wass Mozilla Firefox, which lasted for little more than 5 hours approximately. Opera, with new battery-saving features also stayed in the game for 6 hours 18 minutes before giving up. However, video tests that pit browsers Edge as the winner, with that lasts up to 7 hours 22 minutes before the battery drain of the Book of Surface.

Of course, the catch is that only Windows 10 device with a browser Edge obtain lower power efficiency. To put the test in some perspective, Microsoft Browser Edge lasted 3 hours more than Chrome - which is almost a movie again - or able to provide a battery life of up to 70 percent more. It should be noted, however, that these tests have been taken under the most ideal conditions, and the results will also vary with different Windows 10 devices.
Microsoft further states in his blog, "We continue to focus on power efficiency with regular updates for Windows 10, and Windows 10 Anniversary Update will include even more improvements saver, using the CPU cycles less, consumes less memory, and minimize the impact of background activity and peripheral content such as flash ads. These improvements will build efficiencies shown below to make sure you can stay online longer with Microsoft Edge.
